Gaga’s sixth studio set eclipses the No. 2 best of Joanne, from Oct 2016, though it’ll need some real staying power to match her soundtrack to A Star Is Born, which spent eleven weeks at No. 1 in 2018/2019.
Previously, the U.S. pop superstar snagged top spot in Australia with The Fame Monster (April 2010) and Born This Way (May 2011).
Also making a splash this week is Kip Moore’s Wild World (MER/Universal), which bows at a career-high No. 4. It’s the followup to Slowheart, which peaked at No. 6 in September 2017, and the November 2018 EP Room To Spare: The Acoustic Sessions, which hit No. 18.
Rounding out the top five is Cold Chisel’s classic third album East (Cold Chisel/Universal), which reenters the chart at No. 5 following its 40th anniversary reissue. The album peaked at No. 2 for eight weeks on its release back in June 1980.
Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo earns a top 10 debut with his third artist album Golden Hour (Sony). Featuring assists from OneRepublic, Oh Wonder, Tyga, Zac Brown and others, Golden Hour starts at No. 9.

Following their virtual reunion performance, homegrown rock favorites Powderfinger return to the chart with Internationalist (Universal), at No. 40. The band’s third studio album went to No. 1 in September 1998, took out album of the year at ARIA Awards, and is five-times platinum certified having spent 103 cumulative weeks in the Top 50.
On May 23, the Brisbane five piece assembled for the first time in a decade for the One Night Lonely performance, which has raised more than $500,000 for charities Support Act and Beyond Blue.
Over on the ARIA Singles Chart, DaBaby snags a third week at No. 1 with “Rockstar” (Interscope/Universal) featuring Roddy Ricch.
The week’s highest new entry belongs to Lady Gaga, whose Chromatica track “Sour Candy” starts at No. 8. The collaboration with South Korean girl group Blackpink is the third track from the album to impact the top ten after “Stupid Love” (No. 7) and “Rain On Me” with Ariana Grande, currently at No. 2.
Finally, Tones and I cracks the top 50 with her new release “Ur So F**king Cool” (Bad Batch/Sony), new at No. 49.
The track is co-produced by Tones (real name Toni Watson) and Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran, Pink, The Chainsmokers) and mixed by Serban Ghenea, and is the followup to the dual single release of “Bad Child” and “Can’t Be Happy All the Time” in March 2020. Tones’ monster hit from 2019 “Dance Monkey” has blown past seven billion global streams across all platforms.
