Charlie Puth is known for his catchy hooks and distinctive falsetto, but he’s also the pen behind a number of other artists’ tunes.
In addition to writing his own hits like “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” “Attention” and “See You Again,” Puth has co-written and produced a number of tracks for artists such as One Direction member Liam Payne and Maroon 5.
Despite only having one album out, Puth has worked on an extensive amount of material since 2014. The pop singer is expected to release his second album, Voicenotes, this spring. Ahead of his second album, we’re looking at 10 songs he’s worked on for other artists over the years.

In 2014, a 22-year-old Puth co-produced Livingston Taylor’s album Blue Sky, a collection of covers and originals that he had written throughout his 50-plus years in the music industry. Puth had been a student of Taylor’s at Berklee before graduating in 2013.

Maroon 5 – “Lips On You”
In 2017, Puth admitted that he worked with friend Adam Levine for their intimate track “Lips On You” though he originally wanted to keep it under wraps. “I like to see people react to the music, and sometimes if my name’s attached to it, they feel like they feel have to feel a certain way,” Puth told Billboard. “But it leaked that I wrote on the album, which is totally cool.”
Liam Payne – “Bedroom Floor”
Puth co-wrote Liam Payne’s breakup track “Bedroom Floor” in 2017. When asked the inspiration behind the track, Puth told Billboard that he was picturing a leprechaun singing the falsetto hook. “Out of nowhere, that melody, that joke melody I had, fit perfectly on to one of the dancey chords,” Puth said in 2017.
Bonnie McKee – “California Winter”
Put then went onto co-write Bonnie McKee’s 2014 Christmas pop tune “California Winter.” The song was accompanied by a one-take video complete with retro outfits and fake snow. Puth later collaborated with McKee again on her EP Bombastic in 2015.
Jason Derulo – “Broke”
Jason Derulo’s funky 2015 pop/country track “Broke” boasts Puth’s signature melodies and features from Stevie Wonder and Keith Urban. The song sounds like a weird collection of genres on paper, but the recorded track flawlessly incorporates the different influences to create a unique sound which Puth helped produce. He also was featured as a co-producer and writer on Derulo’s song “Pull Up.”
Trey Songz – “Slow Motion”
Puth co-wrote and co-produced Trey Songz’ smooth R&B track “Slow Motion” in 2015. The song peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was accompanied by a video which starred Trey Songz and his girlfriend Tanaya Henry.
