Karol GAnuel AA and J Balvin’s “Location” debuts at No. 6 on the Hot Latin Songs chart dated Feb. 27.

“Location” launches in the top 10 mainly supported by streaming activity. The tune logged 4.2 million U.S. streams after its first full tracking week ending Feb. 18, according to MRC Data. It concurrently bows at No. 30 on Latin Airplay with 4 million in audience impressions earned in the week ending Feb. 21.

The song, an upbeat reggaeton-pop tune with western and hip-hop nuances, was produced by her longtime collaborator Ovy on the Drums. It follows the Colombian’s two previous Hot Latin Songs-produced top five titles: “Ay, Dios Mío” (No. 5 peak, September 2020) and “Bichota” (No. 3 high, December 2020).

With the No. 6 start, Karol G captures her 11th top 10 on Hot Latin Songs, which blends airplay, digital sales and streaming data. She continues as the female act with the most top 10s in the past five years (February 2016-February 2020), ahead of Shakira’s seven.

Notably, since January 2020, out of the 75 songs that have placed in Hot Latin Songs’ top 10, only 19 were billed to a female act (including featured turns and collaborations), and of those, five were billed to Karol G. “Bichota,” her latest solely credited to her, became the first title by a woman to debut in the list’s top 10 without an unaccompanied act since 2012 when Gloria Estefan achieved the feat with “Hotel Nacional” (No. 1 debut).
