Get ready Blink, Selenators and pop fans alike, because we’re just days away from the release of “Ice Cream,” Blackpink‘s hotly-anticipated new collaboration with Selena Gomez!
While the single is set for release Friday (Aug. 28), the K-pop group and the superstar have been steadily dropping teasers in the form of posters, snippets and what appear to be video stills for weeks to hype its grand unveiling to the world.
Below, we’ve rounded up everything we know so far about “Ice Cream” ahead of its release.
Collaborating With Blackpink Was a “Big, Big Dream” For Selena
Blackpink and Gomez may be a world apart during the pandemic, but that didn’t stop the stars from connecting over FaceTime to chat about their collab in a new teaser video. During the call, Rosé thanks Gomez for jumping on the track, admitting the Blackpink girls have “been a big fan of [hers] for a long time.”
“I’m so stoked,” the pop singer replies, letting them know the feeling and fandom are most definitely mutual. “This is a big, big dream for me and I can’t wait.”
The video also begins and ends with a tiny snippet of the track’s opening instrumentation, giving fans a taste of its rat-a-tat beat and production style.
Blackpink and Selena G Went ’70s in Their Teaser Posters
In the lead up to the release, Blackpink have released a series of colorful teaser posters featuring each member of the group. Everyone’s serving up ’70s-inspired looks in their individual teasers, with Jennie and Jisoo both decked out in flavors of macrame and flower power while Rosé rocks orange-and-pink plaid separates and a red headband. Each poster is also emblazoned with the single’s title and Aug. 28 release date, as well a either “D-4” or “D-3.”

There’s Going to Be a Video
On her own social channels, Gomez teased a couple of peeks at the single’s upcoming video. In the first, she confirmed the song’s release date, declaring “SELPINK pulling up soon” with a cropped, close-up shot of a baby pink van and its matching vanity license plate emblazoned with a portmanteau of her name with the band’s. A few days later, she also shared a snap of herself happily licking a cone with her gorgeous curls tied up in a headscarf to show off her chunky hoop earrings and off-the-shoulder top. Finally, a more in-depth teaser shows the ladies peeking their heads out of an ice cream mural.
Selena Also Debuted Her Own Ice Cream Flavor
In conjunction with the run-up to the single’s release, Gomez also unveiled the perfect treat to indulge in while listening to “Ice Cream” on repeat: her own ice cream flavor! Partnering with famed NYC dessert shop Serendipity, the pop star created Cookies and Cream Remix using pink vanilla ice cream as a nod to her collaborators. “So basically it’s heaven,” she told fan while sampling the new creation in an Instagram video, “and every bite is delicious.”
It’s Coming Soon (Thank Goodness)
“Ice Cream” is slated to drop Friday (Aug. 28) via YG Entertainment/Capitol Records.
