Graham Coxon Returns to Billboard Airplay Charts on Bastille’s ‘What You Gonna Do???’

The Blur member makes his first Alternative Airplay visit since 1997.

Graham Coxon of the band Blur makes his first appearance on a Billboard airplay chart since 1997 via Bastille‘s “What You Gonna Do???,” which debuts at No. 32 on the Alternative Airplay tally dated Aug. 8.

Coxon, who is featured on the song as a guitarist and vocalist, returns to Alternative Airplay after nearly 23 years. Blur has tallied four appearances with him as a member, led by the No. 4-peaking “Girls & Boys” in July 1994. The band’s most recent entry, “Song 2,” reached No. 6 in June 1997.

Coxon left the band in 2002, only contributing minimally to 2003’s Think Tank (and not on the LP’s only charting single in the U.S., “Crazy Beat,” which peaked at No. 22). He returned to the group in 2009.

Concurrently, “What You Gonna Do???” bows at No. 41 on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock Airplay chart with 1 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
