Bad Bunny dressed in drag multiple times, with special nods to that head-to-toe red leather outfit, in his “Yo Perreo Sola” music video, an ode to women twerking alone. Meanwhile, Isaac Dunbar messed around with his “Makeup Drawer” and wardrobe for his stunning clip where he eventually turned himself into a human disco ball, redefining what it means to dress as something “head-to-toe.”
But when it comes to aesthetics, the Pussycat Dolls evoked their golden era with the accompanying visual of the girl group’s “React” comeback single. With epic rainfall and subsequent hair flips to rows of fire surrounding them in a burning room, the reunited pop stars reignited mid-’00s nostalgia and defied all the elements. On the flip side, Dua Lipa fully channeled the ’70s disco energy for her entire Future Nostalgia album, so the surreal “Break My Heart” clip doesn’t just look retro — it also sounds retro based on its INXS‘ No. 1 hit “Need You Tonight” sample from 1987.
