Usher’s “Bad Habits” delivers good news for the veteran hitmaker, as it jumps three spots to No. 1 on the Adult R&B Songs airplay chart dated Dec. 5. The song ascends with a 21% surge in plays in the week ending Nov. 29, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

“Habits” secures Usher’s sixth No. 1 on the chart, and second of 2020. Here’s a look at his leaders collection as “Habits” joins the pack:

Song Title, Artist (if other than Usher) Weeks at No. 1, Date Reached No. 1
“Here I Stand,” seven, Dec. 6, 2008
“Papers,” three, Jan. 2, 2010
“There Goes My Baby,” one, July 31, 2010
“Climax,” one, July 7, 2012
“Don’t Waste My Time,” featuring Ella Mai, two, June 13, 2020
“Bad Habits,” one (to date), Dec. 5, 2020

Thanks to the combination of “Time” and “Habits,” Usher sends two consecutive chart appearances to No. 1 for the first time since “Papers” and “There Goes My Baby” both clocked time in the penthouse in 2010.

Plus, as “Habits” reaches the top position in its 11th week on the chart, it ties “Papers” for the fastest sprint to No. 1 among Usher’s six champs.

Adult R&B radio gains help “Habits” crack the top 10 of the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, which combines plays at both the adult-leaning and mainstream-oriented versions of the radio format. There, “Habits” improves 11-9 through an 11% boost in audience to 11.7 million in the week ending Nov. 29.
