Dua Lipa‘s “Don’t Start Now” rises to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Pop Songs radio airplay chart (dated Feb. 29), marking her second leader on the survey. She first reigned for four weeks in February 2018 with “New Rules.”
“Start” concurrently tops Billboard‘s Dance Mix/Show Airplay chart for a 10th week, after it led Dance Club Songs (Jan. 4). It has also hit the top 10 on multiple global charts and reached a No. 6 high to-date on the all-format, streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Billboard Hot 100.
The song, released on Warner Records, is the lead single from the English singer-songwriter’s second LP, Future Nostalgia, due April 3. “I feel like it properly describes everything that’s to come with the next record,” she recently told Billboard of the track. “It’s got a theme going through it: It’s more disco-orientated, it’s ’80s-inspired, it’s fun … honest lyrics, but not taking myself too seriously. I just want people when they hear it to want to dance.”

Further regarding Warner, Lipa is the first female artist on the label with multiple Pop Songs No. 1s since the chart began in 1992. The only other woman to top the tally with a Warner single? Madonna, whose “Take a Bow” led for five weeks in 1995. Lipa joins Jason Derulo (three) and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (two) as the only acts overall with multiple Pop Songs No. 1s released on the label (which for 61 years was named Warner Bros., until last May).
The Pop Songs chart ranks songs by weekly plays on a panel of 169 mainstream top 40-formatted radio stations, as monitored by Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
